Start your engines! Saturday, April 28th from 7-11pm, MotorGrrl is hosting it's annual season opener. This year we have an amazing list of talented moto artists from across the country exhibiting their work at the event, which will also be available for purchase. Beer has been lovingly provided by Brooklyn Brewery and of course there will be plenty of snacks. The shenangigans will carry on all night, so come early and stay late! Pipes will be hot, so please leave the little ones at home.
NOLS Wilderness First Aid for Motorcyclists
July 21 & 22 from 8am-5pm
$225 for Members
$250 for Non-Members
Prepare for the unexpected with this fun, hands-on introduction to wilderness medicine. Taught over two days by NOLS certified instructors, this course will be specifically focused on the potential environmental and traumatic injuries related to motorcycling.
The objective of this course is to arm you with the knowledge you need to stay safe on the road and out in the elements. An unfortunate reality of motorcycling is that motorcycle accidents and injuries do happen. By preparing for the slide not the ride we hope to keep our community safer when these injuries do occur.
This course is great for people of all experience levels, and is best suited for those who recreate outdoors where EMS response can be expected in a timely manner (fewer than 8 hours). You'll learn the Patient Assessment System, how to provide effective first aid treatments for injuries and illnesses common in the outdoors, and how to make appropriate evacuation decisions.
You'll learn both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather, so come prepared for wet, muddy, cold or hot environments!
